Accounting and External Audit
- We audit financial statements under the International Accounting Standards on Auditing and the Cyprus Companies Law, Chapter 113.
- At Nexia Poyiadjis we strongly believe that the audit, although a statutory requirement, can add value to our client organisations and
assist management in their decision making process. We place particular importance on our audit function as external auditors as this comprises
the mainstream of our professional work. Our audit approach in examining financial statements and attesting to their truth and fairness is
regularly updated enhanced by computer aided technology developed within Nexia International.
- Our approach to the audit process is to ensure the project is well planned and produces no surprises.
A key step is to ensure the scope of our work is agreed and explained in advance and all relevant issues are discussed as they arise.
- During the audit we maintain contact with clients on a regular basis to monitor progress. At the conclusion of on-site work, prompt and
effective reporting is essential. Appropriate closing meetings will be held with clients and rather than solely relying on formal management
letters, we find that senior management teams and non-executive directors, partners or trustees are often better informed by receiving copies
of the minutes of these closing meetings.
- Our accounting assistance is offered to clients when requested to do so adopting a computer based methodology to reflect
developments in
technology.
